Kathmandu,
April 7: The agitating 30-party alliance led by Unified CPN (Maoist) has set
ablaze a taxi in Koteswor-Balkumari this morning. The
alliance has enforced nationwide general strike today aiming at piling pressure
for promulgating a new constitution in the spirit of consensus. The agitators
scattered petrol and put aflame the taxi (Ba 1 Ja 1877) of Niraj Baniya, a
local of Hetauda, while he was returning to Lalitpur after dropping his
relative at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
Two
unidentified demonstrators had stopped the taxi and put it on fire with petrol
at 5.15 this morning. After
a big damage to his vehicle, taxi driver Baniya said he was worrying how to eke
out livelihood of his family as it was the only source of income.
