Thousands participate in Bagmati clean up 100 weeks campaign

Kathmandu, April 11: The 100th week of Bagmati Clean Up Greater Campaign was succeed with participation of thousands of people from Sundarijal to Sundarighat. The participants are scheduled to form a human chain of 56 kilometres along the riverbanks.
The greater campaign kicked off with the singing of the National Anthem and oath taking to keep the river clean.
Chief Secretary of the government Leela Mani Paudyal, who led the campaign from the very beginning of the Bagmati clean up move started on May 18, 2013, is leading the team at Okhreni Secondary School in Sundarijal.
Prime Minister Sushil Koirala would attended the campaign at Pashupatinath-Tilganga area. Likewise, CPN (UML) Chairman KP Oli accompanied by other UML leaders at Thapathali in the clean up campaign.
Similarly, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal attendedat Tinkune area.
Thousands of people have gathered at Chovar, Sundarighat. Former government secretary Kishor Thapa said that the Bagmati clean up campaign highly successful in the region.
Likewise, Minister for General Administration, who is at Tilganga area, told RSS that we should collect the garbage that was thrown by ourselves. He added that they were working to make the water of Bagmati river drinkable.
