President Dr. Rambaran Yadav has approved the ordinance concerning reconstruction of structures damaged or destroyed by the devastating earthquake. The cabinet meeting of yesterday had recommended the president for approval of the ordinance. As per the ordinance, a national consultation committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the prime minister.

 The committee will comprise government ministers, leaders of opposition parties, leaders of parties representing at the Parliament among others as its members. Similarly, a Reconstruction Authority also headed by the PM will be formed with four minister chosen by the prime minister and three experts as its members and the chief secretary and vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission as its automatic members.
