8 Nepalese have $ 54 million in Swiss Bank

It has come to light that eight Nepali nationals have black money amounting to 5 billion 400 million rupees stored in accounts in Swiss banks. The latest information comes with the revelation that these Nepali nationals have deposited 54 million American dollars at the Switzerland- based HSBC bank.
Nepal ranks 116th among the nations having deposits in Swiss banks, according to details made public by project 'Swiss Leaks' carried out by an international organisation of investigative journalists ICIJ. According to the organisation, of the amount deposited by Nepali citizens, a single account has deposit of 40 million American dollars, while deposits of the remaining seven accounts add up to 14 million dollars. The names of Nepali nationals holding these accounts are yet to be disclosed.

The Nepali government should correspondent with the HSBC bank to verify the accounts allegedly opened by the Nepali people. The Swiss Leak has informed that the money might have been hidden in financial havens of Swiss accounts either through tax evasion or embezzlement of the government fund. The Indian media has publicized a list of 100 entrepreneurs of its country found to be stashing black money at Swiss banks. It was claimed that 1,688 Indian entrepreneurs including famous businessmen Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani have Swiss accounts. The leaking of the confidential information has started creating swirls around the countries of the world. Journalists from BCC and India's Indian Express were also involved in the investigative team comprising 140 journalists of 45 countries.
